EXO: A Collection of High-End Furniture by Grégoire de Lafforest

A collection of exceptional furniture where structure becomes essence

What if the invisible became visible? This is the question posed by EXO, Grégoire de Lafforest’ s exclusive collection of sculptural furniture for Galerie Gosserez. Inspired by the anatomical concept of the exoskeleton – the external structure of insects or robots – Lafforest imagines furniture where what is usually hidden becomes central, assumed, magnified.

The EXO wardrobe: a statement piece

The centerpiece of the collection, theEXO wardrobe is produced in a limited series of 12. Its monolithic core is carved from a single block of solid American walnut, worked with artisanal precision and minimal surface treatment. This natural mass is then enveloped in a blackened steel exoskeleton, both light and visually powerful.

The result? A dramatic tension between mass and lightness. The cabinet seems to float – protected, framed, reinforced by its metal shell. Inside, refined shelving and bespoke details express a discreet elegance, in harmony with the sobriety of the exterior.

From studio to collector

This editorial choice reinforces the rarity of the collection: these are not mass-produced pieces of furniture, but hybrid works between art and design, intended for collectors, enlightened enthusiasts and interiors with a strong identity.

Each EXO piece is crafted in France with artisanal precision, using noble materials and local know-how. The cabinet, along with a coffee table, console and chair from the same series, are available exclusively through Galerie Gosserez, renowned for its curatorial vision of contemporary collectible design.
