Artisans d’Excellence 2025 : the must-attend event for decorative arts crafts (Paris)

5 August 20251 October 2025

Artisans d’Excellence 2025 (Artisans of Excellence): the must-attend event for decorative arts crafts

From October 2 to 4, 2025, the Palais de la Porte Dorée will host the second edition of Artisans d’Excellence, an unmissable event for lovers of decorative arts, interior design, and exceptional craftsmanship. After a first successful edition in 2024 – with more than 3,200 visitors in three days – this Parisian gathering confirms its ambition: to showcase the virtuosity of contemporary artisans and their dialogue with materials.

A human-scale fair with great prestige

Created by Miguel Duterrier, founder of the magazine Signatures Singulières, and Isabelle de Lasteyrie, director of L’Agence d’Isabelle, Artisans d’Excellence quickly established itself as a rare format: concise, elegant, and demanding, highlighting the diversity of crafts and their place in contemporary high decoration.

The principle is simple: to bring together hand and material. Wood, metal, leather, textiles, glass, or stone – each raw material becomes a work of art in the hands of carefully selected artisans. From wrought iron to glass marquetry, from stained glass to mosaics, from leather wrapping to upholstery, the range of crafts on display illustrates the vitality of French and European creation.

What’s new in 2025: an Art Deco setting and renewed scenography

The 2025 edition will take place in a highly symbolic venue: the Palais de la Porte Dorée, a masterpiece by Albert Laprade, inaugurated in 1931 for the International Colonial Exhibition. This emblematic Art Deco monument offers an exceptional setting to celebrate contemporary creation.

This year also marks the centenary of the Art Deco movement: the perfect context to host a fair that draws on tradition while highlighting innovation.

The scenography has been entrusted to several renowned talents:

  • Oscar Lucien Ono, founder of Maison Numéro 20, designs the lighting gallery.
  • Brice Tual, designer and scenographer, stages a journey through mural works.
  • Frédéric Imbert, interior designer, imagines a monumental fresco dedicated to eco-responsible materials.
  • The Ombre agency, with the collaboration of the Ateliers Jouffre, creates an immersive textile gallery.

A four-space journey

Across 800 m², visitors will discover a pathway structured in four inspiring stages:

  • Lighting Gallery: unique and small-series lighting creations.
  • Crafts and mural works: decorative panels and frescoes in a sustainable scenography.
  • Eco-friendly materials: a monumental fresco showcasing responsible and organic materials.
  • Textile Gallery: six theatrical alcoves dedicated to fabrics and trimmings.

Carefully selected artisans and manufacturers

More than 80 creators, workshops, and manufacturers will exhibit this year, including an emerging new generation. Among them:

  • Ateliers Fey, specialists in leather wrapping
  • Manufacture Cogolin, renowned for its bespoke rugs
  • Atelier François Pouenat, master ironworker
  • Solène Eloy, mural painter
  • Blundell & Therrien, painted decor
  • Ateliers Arquie, Limoges porcelain
  • Anne-Violaine Lesaffre, painted decor
  • Béatrice Serre, art mosaicist

A meeting place for professionals and the public

The fair is aimed at interior designers, decorators, specifiers, luxury houses as well as enthusiasts and collectors. Thursday, October 2, and Friday, October 3, are reserved for professionals, while Saturday, October 4, is open to the public (admission: €25).

This selective format ensures genuine encounters: each visitor can speak directly with artisans, discover their creative processes, and consider collaborations, commissions, or acquisitions.

The founders: two passionate advocates of savoir-faire

Isabelle de Lasteyrie has been supporting artisans and designers in their communication and development for nearly twenty years through her agency. In 2024, she launched the LISS collection in partnership with selected crafts, including the SICCO lamp, presented during the first edition.

Miguel Duterrier, founder of the magazine Signatures Singulières, has long showcased the creators and artisans who make French art de vivre shine internationally.

Together, they conceived Artisans d’Excellence as a prestigious and contemporary showcase for living heritage.

A manifesto for exceptional creation

Through its intimate format, rigorous selection, and heritage setting, Artisans d’Excellence 2025 (Artisans of Excellence) is more than just a fair: it is a living manifesto for the decorative arts. It celebrates the beauty of craft, the richness of materials, and the ability of artisans to anchor tradition in modernity.

An unmissable event for all those who believe that matter, transformed by the hand, remains the true soul of decorative creation.
