Contribute to HART Design Selection
Guest authors opportunities
HART Design Selection is a bilingual webzine dedicated to contemporary design, interior culture and exceptional craftsmanship. If you work in design, architecture or the applied arts, and wish to share a thoughtful perspective on your field, HART welcomes your contribution as a guest author.
A platform for dialogue and ideas about design
At HART, we believe that design is a conversation between disciplines, generations and cultures. Inviting guest authors allows us to broaden that dialogue and to showcase diverse voices that help shape the creative landscape. Each contribution becomes part of a larger editorial journey that celebrates the intelligence of materials, the poetry of form and the people who give meaning to design.
We publish professionals, writers and design enthusiasts who bring an informed and original point of view, an analysis, a reflection, or a distinctive vision. Each article aligns with HART’s editorial spirit: luxury, design, culture and savoir-faire.
An author’s point of view
Being a guest author on HART means offering a feature article related to your field of expertise, approached through an editorial and cultural lens. This space is not intended for direct promotion of brands or services, but for sharing a perspective that adds depth to the conversation on contemporary creation. A strong article conveys an idea, questions a practice, highlights craftsmanship, or draws connections between past and present. We value contributions that reflect genuine insight and a clear, confident voice rather than commercial intent.
Published articles are typically around 800 words and address a readership of designers, architects, decorators, editors, artisans and design lovers. We particularly welcome articles that combine clarity and depth, texts that are both accessible and informed, written with precision and curiosity. The tone can be analytical, reflective or narrative, as long as it brings substance and perspective to the subject.
Images as part of the story
Each article should include at least three images for which you hold the copyright. Accepted visuals include real photographs (projects, objects, interiors, materials), sketches or drawings, and up to one 3D rendering per article. AI-generated images are not accepted.
At HART, images are not mere illustration, they are part of the narrative. Whether it’s the geometry of a room, the grain of a textile or the patina of a crafted surface, visuals play a crucial role in connecting readers to your story. Each image should include a caption and a credit line (author, location, year, source).
Author profile
Every contribution is accompanied by a short author bio (5–6 lines), a portrait, and your professional links (website, Instagram, LinkedIn, portfolio). This section identifies the author’s voice while highlighting their background and expertise. It also helps readers discover the people shaping the future of design , those who think, make, and share with intention.
Pitching your article
Before writing, we encourage you to pitch your idea by email. Send a few lines summarizing your topic, your approach, and how it fits within HART’s editorial focus on design, culture and craftsmanship. The editorial team will review your proposal and confirm whether it aligns with upcoming themes or features.
Please email your proposal to collab@hartdesignselection.com and include:
- the topic or working title of your article
- a short summary (3–5 lines) outlining your angle
- a preview of your available images (or visual intentions)
- and a link to your website or portfolio, if available
An open editorial collaboration
Selected articles are edited and translated into English and French before publication on our bilingual platform. HART handles the layout, translation and publication with respect for both the author’s tone and the magazine’s visual identity. This process reflects a collaborative editorial approach built on dialogue, expertise and mutual value.
Each guest article becomes part of a growing library of perspectives, a shared resource for students, professionals and readers who care about how things are made and why design continues to evolve. You bring your insight; HART provides a curated, high-quality platform and targeted visibility within the world of design and luxury.
Depending on the theme, some contributions may evolve into extended features, interviews, profiles or editorial partnerships with our team. To learn more about our other forms of collaboration, visit our dedicated page: Collaborations.
Contributing to HART means joining an ongoing dialogue about design, materials and contemporary craftsmanship.
