ABOUT HART DESIGN SELECTION
A design webzine that takes luxury and materials seriously
HART Design Selection is a bilingual webzine dedicated to design, interior architecture and exceptional craftsmanship. We don’t just show beautiful images: we talk about materials, techniques, history of styles, artisans, real prices and informed choices for high-end projects.
Our ambition: to become a reference resource for those who want to understand what lies behind an iconic armchair, a Zuber panoramic, a bespoke kitchen or an embroidery applied to furniture – without ever sacrificing emotion to theory.

Vision: documenting, transmitting and defending well-made beauty
HART was born from a simple observation: the high-end design world is often either treated superficially, or wrapped in inaccessible jargon. Between product pages and academic essays, there was space for an editorial voice that is demanding, educational and deeply grounded in real life.
Our guideline is clear: put drawing, material, hand and long-term value on the same level. A sofa is not only a “style”; it is a story of structure, foam, fabric, workshop, fair price – and everyday life. A panoramic wallpaper is not just a motif; it is heritage, printing technique, and a long-term investment.
HART stands at the crossroads of three worlds: design culture, art craftsmanship and high-end editorial consulting. We speak to architects, interior designers, brands and artisans as much as to curious, demanding design lovers.
What you will (and won’t) find on HART
What we do
- Style & design history guides: from French châteaux to Memphis and Californian modernism.
- Technical deep dives: foams, fabrics, wallpapers, lighting, high-end kitchens, finishes, price ranges.
- Portraits of creators and artisans: designers, upholsterers, embroiderers, cabinetmakers, editors.
- Curated selections: iconic pieces, key brands, exceptional artisans to follow.
- Educational resources: glossaries, reading grids, decision guides to choose and invest better.
What we refuse
- Purely decorative content with no context, no explanation, no transparency.
- Hidden advertorials: every partnership is clearly stated and carefully edited.
- Disposable trend-chasing: we focus on pieces and know-how that last.
- Elitist or condescending tone: high standards don’t exclude pedagogy or humour.
Who is HART for?
For architects, interior designers and studios: you’ll find reliable resources to feed your projects, support your specifications, and identify new brands and artisans to collaborate with.
For artisans and design houses: HART sheds light on savoir-faire, workshops and collections that deserve more than a press release. We value processes, gestures and materials as much as the final image.
For informed design lovers, collectors and students: you want to understand what you buy, where it comes from, how it’s made and why it sometimes costs what it costs. You’re in the right place.
Who is behind HART?

An upholsterer, editor and detail-obsessed founder
HART is led by a professional coming straight from the workshop, trained in traditional upholstery and immersed for more than ten years in the daily reality of chairs, sofas, fabrics, foams and actual job sites. This double lens workshop + editorial shapes the tone of the webzine: concrete, technical, but never cold.
After hundreds of textile projects, historic restorations and collaborations with high-end brands and artisans, the desire became obvious: to create an independent media able to tell this world with honesty, precision and desire.
HART is still a small structure – and that’s intentional. Every article is documented, edited and placed within a larger history of design and decorative arts. We prefer to publish less, but publish right.
Editorial collaborations & partnerships
HART collaborates with design houses, galleries, artisans and editors who share the same standards of quality, transparency and respect for craftsmanship. Each partnership is conceived as a real editorial feature, not a product placement.
- Brand features: history, DNA, iconic pieces, pricing, differentiation.
- Portraits of designers and artisans: interviews, studio visits, focus on gestures and materials.
- Thematic guides: wallpapers, lighting, kitchens, seating, textiles, objects.
- High-end shortlists: for architects, interior designers and specifiers.
All sponsored or co-produced content is clearly indicated. Editorial independence is non-negotiable: our readers come to HART for a reasoned, argued point of view, not for a catalogue.
