The Boca Sofa, Dali, 1936<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Boca Sofa<\/strong>, designed by Salvador Dal\u00ed<\/strong> in 1936, is one of the most iconic examples of surrealism applied to design. Inspired by the luscious lips of Mae West<\/strong>, the Hollywood actress, Dal\u00ed first created it as part of his famous \u201cMae West Room\u201d<\/strong>\u2014a space where the star\u2019s face was recreated through furniture: curtains for hair, paintings for eyes, a fireplace for the nose, and this sofa for the mouth.<\/p>\n\n\n
